Since the year 2011 the the Batam city government cooperated with shopping center or malls in Batam implementing the program Batam Great Sale at the end of the year. So Batam Great Sale 2012 was the second implementation. The launching of Batam Great Sale 2012 held at the Pacific Hotel Batam on November 28, 2012. And Batam Great Sale 2012 starting from 1 to 31 December 2012.
The purpose of the implementation of Batam Great Sale is to attract tourists to the city of Batam particularly in view for shopping. In 2011 Batam Great Sale capable to attract tourists from Singapore and Malaysia as many as 100 thousand tourists. Hopefully, by the Batam Great Sale to contribute to achieve the target of foreign tourists on 2012 for 1.25 million people.
