Cafe has been one of life style in Batam nowadays. Many new cafes now open with various genre and concept. But, what I personally love is the growth of coffee shop. There are many of them now in Batam. They served fresh coffee from various city in Indonesia with their signature coffee. Gayo Aceh and Toraja is my favorite.
Recommended cafe for coffee lovers
In this article, I would like to share some of my favorite hangout cafe in Batam. More specifically, it is cafe with served coffee as their signature.
I am coffee lover myself. And now, it is not difficult to find a place in Batam which is served fresh coffee from various cities in Indonesia and various methods of brewing.
Among these cafes, one of them even has their own roaster machine. What I will share here comes from my own experience, come to the place myself and tried a variety of coffee.

Anchor Cafe and Roastery
This is my most favorite cafe. I was instantly fallen in love when I come here for the first time. The place is clean, tidy, minimalist and coffee steady! Be it espresso or manual brew, I fell in love with both of it. Another menu that made me fall in love is an American Pecan Pie which was very tasty. A wide variety of Pie from American home-made recipe was also tempting to taste. Well, the owner is American!
Strategically located right in one corner of Dermaga Sukajadi, Batam Center makes this cafe within easy driving and distances from anywhere and easy to find because it is clearly visible from the roadside.
At Anchor, we also can see the roasting process, because this cafe has coffee roaster. It is placed right next to the bar, surrounded with glass wall, so visitors can see directly the process. Coffees served here were guaranteed fresh and wide selections of coffees from various cities of Indonesia are also available.

Habit Coffee
Based in Baloi, just before the intersection of Indosat Baloi, cafe with a minimalist design and is suitable to be engrossed in a favorite hangout while enjoying the coffee. This cafe with 3 storeys serves delicious coffee with other tempting menu.
Unlike the Anchor Cafe, at Habit Coffee providing western food menu was varied and more satisfying version of the Indonesian people. Hahaha. Coffees with a grain processed manually brew by Habit Coffee barista’s also dogged!

96 Degree Cafe
This cafe is quite new (around 1 month at the time this article was written) instantly became one of my favorite places to enjoy the coffee. If you are here, I encourage you to try Syphon, you will love it.
In addition to coffee, here also provides a unique menu that got my attention, even I made video about it! Deconstructed Noodle, to eat it, we have to put them together one by one. Unique and cool! Moreover, the taste is delicious. Check out the video here.

House of Coffee
My favorite coffee place in Batuaji, just around 2 km away from my house. In addition of it, they serve a wide variety of coffee from many cities in Indonesia. Call it Gayo, Toraja, Kopi Bali and East Java, are all available here.
Strategic location on a side road leading to Marina Waterfront, right in the row of shop houses after D Merlion Hotel. Several times here, this cafe seems never empty of visitors and coffee lovers. Music performance also often presented here of a wide variety of community music in Batam. Made hangout atmosphere more fun!
Broadband Cafe
Located in very strategic place in the largest mall in Batam, Nagoya Hill made this coffee shop recommended for you who comes to Batam and need to hangout a while from shopping. The coffee is good, as good as the place which has nice atmosphere.
