I would like to express my frustrations and disappointment about Centro Hotel. Of the many unpleasant experiences, I would like to highlight a couple of key incidents:
1. Failure to arrange for pick-up transfer on 27th Dec at Nongsa Ferry Terminal. We have written at least 2 emails seeking confirmation from both Iwan and Kristianto without success and was disappointed to be left stranded at Nongsa upon arrival. We had to call the hotel to notify the front desk and after waiting for 15mins without any confirmation, we had to arrange our own transportation to the hotel. It wasn’t pleasant but it wasn’t a deal breaker either.
2. Failure to pick-up at Nagoya Shopping Mall on 29th Dec at 8pm. We understand that the free shuttle service is a goodwill gesture from the hotel, however we don’t appreciate the fact that we had to wait for an hour (9pm) for our pick-up. We were at JCo Donut at 7.50pm, yet until 8.40pm there was no sign of Centro shuttle van. We had to call the hotel and the reason provided was that the driver couldn’t find us. This is ridiculous! We stood at the entrance looking out for Centro shuttle bus since 7.50pm – 9pm that is 80mins without leaving the spot at all. How could we missed the van? It was clearly an oversight on the hotel’s management yet not admitting to it’s mistake. This is unacceptable and dishonest. A sincere apology and admitting that it was an honest mistake, would suffice.
3. Here is the deal breaker – upon our checkout on 31st Dec at 8.30pm, we were told that everything is fine and we could enjoy my breakfast while awaiting for our taxi transfer to Nongsa. At 9.20am, while leaving the hotel, we were stopped and asked for payment (for our accommodation) which was PAID on 27th Dec upon check-in. The front desk service crew insist that there was NO PAYMENT RECORD capture within the system. This is appalling as she was the very same service crew that issued our receipt on 27th Dec. I had to go back to room 323, dig through the rubbish bin for the receipt that I’ve threw to proof that we paid for stay.
I absolutely, cannot believe that the hotel payment system would have failed to captured such important financial information. Even if it was technical glitches, there would ALWAYS be a hardcopy of mastercard transaction with our signature within the room/ guest file. This is atrocious and beyond comprehension!
