Barelang Bridge comes from the initials of three islands, namely: Batam, Rempang and Galang. Barelang Bridge is a series of six different types of bridges connecting the islands of Batam, Rempang and Galang as well as connecting the small islands around the island they are Nipah Island, Setokok Island and Toton Island. Barelang Bridge is one of the Batam iconic, in addition is also famous as a tourism place. Barelang Bridge was built in 1992 by Mr Jusuf Habibie, who was then serving as head of the Batam Authority, he is designing Batam as well as city tourism industry. Finally he was as a third Indonesian President.
There are 6 bridges and the most popular and beautiful is the 1st bridge, the total bridges length is 2 km, and the distance from the first bridge to the end of the bridge about 20 minutes. Along these bridges many seafood restaurant, usually called as Kelong, you can find them, especially around 1st Barelang Bridge.
If you visit Batam, you have to enjoy the beautiful panoramic from the Barelang Bridge. Especially panoramic in 1st bridge, it is really beautiful.
