1. Traveller, Great Britain
The staff were so friendly and keen to help. We were only at the hotel for a couple of days but we felt instantly relaxed and looked after as soon as we arrived. We went in a quiet season so not sure what its usual crowd is like, but I went with a friend and had a lovely time, but I think it would be super family friendly too. We alsp checked out the spa, which was so lovely, great staff and reasonably priced.

I am quite difficult to please but I cannot find any reason to fault this hotel. Its an ageing property but it has been kept in very good condition, set in beautiful tropical gardens and a great pool. The room was spacious and clean. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful, without exception. There is a great spa on site and the food was really very good. The only downside is its location – Waterfront City, Batam, is anything but a city. There’s just a ferry terminal, a few disappointing shops, bars and Warungs and a small dirty brown slab of beach. Essentially there are just two things of interest – the Holiday Inn and the nearby Harris Resort (which incidentally we looked around and congratulated ourselves for not booking).
