I can say that, Nagoya is the heart of Batam Island, the center of this city. This district is located on the northern side of Batam Island, where you can find most hotels, malls, restaurants, tourist attractions and entertainment. The heartbeat of Nagoya is up for day and night, but mostly more alive at night.
Nagoya Entertainment District
It was according to the plan that, Batam Center is most likely to be the main gate to Batam from International and also build government office and town administrative over there.
While Nagoya is more focus on private enterprises which run businesses and entertainment, like I mention before.
It is not a secret that Batam nightlife is very active and popular among Singaporeans and expatriates.
Not forget to mention locals also, of course.
Pub, bar, club, discotheque, massage and karaoke are everywhere. Most of them are in Nagoya area. But, there are also available on the other side of Batam, like the one in the Marina Waterfront.
This well-known area on Nagoya, popular for its nightlife and entertainment were located exactly on the center of Nagoya district. So called Nagoya Entertainment District or often just called by The NED.
How to get there?
To get to Nagoya Entertainment District is not so hard. The location is very strategic near one of oldest hotel in Batam, Harmoni Hotel. Only 5 minutes away from Nagoya Hill Mall by taxi and 10 minutes away from Harbour Bay Ferry Terminal.
Some well known hotels near Nagoya Entertainment District which can reach by foot are Harmoni Hotel, Goodway Hotel, Allium Hotel, Planet Holiday and Swiss Bel-inn.
If you are coming from the other side of Batam, it is recommended to just rent a taxi; even this district can be reach with public transportation. But, if you are not sure, just take a taxi.

So, what are there in Nagoya Entertainment District?
There are over 35 pubs and counting with more opening every few months. Only several Batam pubs have “real” kitchens but most can provide you with a menu and will order food for you from the other pubs. The majority of the pubs are ‘entertainment’ driven featuring SPG’s. In the past two years some pubs have adopted a Pattaya / Manila nightlife approach.
